My name is Mattia Angelo Gasparini.
I'm a designer who loves designing and building objects, pieces of furniture and furnishing accessories.
I mainly use wood because of its tactile characteristics, durability and sustainability, but I am very curious to experiment with other materials, innovative or traditional.
Every piece, poised between craftsmanship, design and art, is the fruit of a dialogue between the client and me, between ideas and reality, and between aesthetics and function.
I love both designing and making and I take care of each stage of the creation: conception, design and rendering, choice of materials, construction and delivery.
I prefer using manual tools and techniques.
If and when I need to, I do use technology, but I strongly believe that “the intelligence of the hand” of the designer and maker should be present in the final result.
This, and that's not little, makes my pieces unique.
What does my logo mean?
My logo, a simple representation of a hand, is inspired by the symbology of the Camuni rock art which underlines my tie with the Brescian territory and its mountainous areas, the cradle of the Camuni civilization. Of their many symbols, I chose the hand because I believe no technology or machinery could ever completely replace “the intelligence of the hand”. For this reason, each of my pieces is marked with this symbol, the fruit of an egalitarian relationship between the hand and the mind.
