The lamp Isydora
IsYdora is a multifunctional lamp, a very simple and essential object, without redundant elements, inspired by Japanese culture. The constructive “keystone” is a joint which merges three squared beams, woodwork offcuts doomed to become firewood, without the use of screws or nails. Composed of a single lighting body, it is versatile and can be used as a table, wall or side-table lamp. It is equipped with energy saving LED lights, inlaid into the hidden sides of the structure.
The lamp can be attached to and detached from the wall, or any other surface, using a discreet neodimio magnetic coupling system.
I have designed two versions, the first one supplied by an electric cable while the second one is battery powered, cordless and portable.
This lamp aims at making better use of natural resources. It is durable, easy to repair and made locally. Being versatile and portable it is adapt to new design trends and the needs of a more sustainable and fast changing society.
